I am a Lecturer in the School of Physics at TU Dublin where I teach radiation biology, particle physics, and data science, amongst other topics. I am also an Academic Collaborator at SFI ADAPT.
My initial training was in Experimental Physics (UCD) and Medical Physics (TCD), with a doctoral specialisation (TU Dublin) in multivariate statistical analysis, machine learning and spectroscopic imaging for applications in biology, health and medicine. My research concentrates mainly on the development of hyperspectral imaging and data treatment and analysis pipelines for application in oncology. The motivation of this activity is to develop diagnostic and prognostic imaging solutions for prediction of cancer treatment response for use in individualized therapy planning. Recent projects are also extending this work towards immunological applications and the development of molecular sensors.
I am Director of TU Dublin’s BSc in Physics with Data Science. You can find more at the link or contact me via email.
